Hi! I'm Jex.
I’m a Marine Corps veteran, an Army spouse, and a mom to two amazing daughters- and I know firsthand how stressful and unpredictable military life can be. As a financial coach, I help military families clarify their goals, simplify their money, and create financial stability that fits their life. For some, that means building a budget that finally works. For others, it’s paying down debt, saving for the future, or simply feeling less anxious about money. Whatever financial stability looks like for you, we’ll define it together and make it happen, one step at a time.

My Story
I joined the Marine Corps in 2008, making about $20,000 as an E-2. A few months after boot camp, I received my first student loan statement in the mail, and I was shocked to see that I owed $30,000! I was in disbelief, and felt completely overwhelmed. I made a vague goal to pay off my highest-interest loan during my four-year enlistment, but I didn’t have a plan to actually do so. I made the minimum payments, and threw extra money at it when I could, and just hoped for the best. I felt weighed down by my debt, but didn’t know how to escape it.
One day, with only 6 months left of my enlistment, I realized I still had two-thirds of that loan left. Meeting my goal seemed impossible. I felt like I’d wasted the last 3.5 years, and I realized that something had to change. I Googled “how to pay off debt quickly,” and I fell down the personal finance rabbit hole. I renewed my promise to myself, I applied what I learned, and to my amazement, I paid off that loan in less than four months! I was so excited- I felt lighter, empowered, and eager for the next milestone. Within the next year, I was completely debt-free!
I realized the importance of having a plan, and how much progress I could make when I was intentional with my money. Now, I help others who feel trapped by debt gain control over their money and finally feel free.
Why Me?
Financial coaching fills a gap in the personal finance world. If you don’t yet have investments for a financial planner to manage, but you still want expert guidance to make smart money decisions — that’s where I come in.
As your financial coach, I help you make sense of your day-to-day money choices so you can reach your goals with confidence. Whether that means paying off debt, building an emergency fund, saving for your next car, or simply figuring out where your money keeps going, we’ll create a plan that works for your life.
I bring both professional expertise and personal experience to my work. I’m an Accredited Financial Counselor® (AFC®) and Military Qualified Financial Planner® (MQFP®), and I'm currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Financial Therapy from Kansas State University.
